Retired Ambulances

Our first ambulance was a 1947 Buick ambulance which served as our only ambulance for the first twelve years of our service to the Borough of Bogota.  In 1959, the Borough purchased a 1959 Eureka Cadillac Ambulance was was in service from 1959 through 1969.  Our third ambulance was a 1969 Cadillac ambulance as well.  More information about some of our retired ambulances will be available soon.

Bogota First Aid Squad’s 1959 Eureka Ambulance Now a Collectors Item

In 1997, Neal Parish of Oakland, California found our old 1959 Cadillac Ambulance.  After many years of work, and lots of money  invested, Neal brought the old Bogota rig back to life and used it as a show piece.  In 2004, Neal sold the rig to Edwin Otten of Switzerland.  Edwin arranged to have the rig shipped to Holland, where the rig is still running today.   Soon the rig will be shipped to Switzerland.

We have been working with Neal and Edwin to collect stories, photos and other information about how the rig was brought back to life by Neal, and what the rig is doing today.  We are currently working on a section of our site which will be dedicated to the story of the ‘59 Caddy.
